Kannur, Apr 16 : Lashing out at Communist parties for their alleged "hypocrisy" in their political stand, Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Tuesday said "they always say one thing outside and do another thing elsewhere." Addressing an election rally at Kannur, she said "a wonderful example showed by CPI (M) that hypocrisy is its stand towards Congress President Rahul Gandhi's candidature at Wayanad.
When they go to Delhi and have talks about National Politics, the CPI(M) and CPI talk about secular front and say we all have to be together to defeat BJP." "When the Congress party said that Mr Gandhi is contesting from Waynad considering it as the gateway to South India, the CPI(M) leaders questioned AICC President Rahul Gandhi's fight against party-led Left Democratic Front( LDF) Candidate in the constituency," she said.
"Even though the leaders of LDF said they are working to defeat Mr Rahul Gandhi, the people know that the CPI(M) will take a hypocrisy stand and will cast their votes in favour of the Congress leader," she alleged. She also alleged that "development is not the agenda of Communist parties, but violence comes first for them," citing examples from countries like Cuba and Venezula and from the Indian states like West Bengal and Tripura.
