Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s first election campaign in Kerala saw him launch an attack on both the CPM-led LDF and Congress-led UDF and accused them of not doing anything for the people.
At the Vijaya Sankalp rally in Kozhikode on Friday, he said that the two fronts failed to work for the good of the people despite ruling the State for decades and dominating State politics. The alternative for the people was the BJP-led NDA and it would be “democratic, inclusive and compassionate”. “Electing the Congress and the LDF was like giving licences to its leaders to engage in corruption,” he added. “They were different only in name and not in deeds.”
BJP activists were attacked and killed in Kerala for serving the people, Modi said. Candidates from Kasaragod, Kannur, Vadakara. Kozhikode, Wayanad and Palakkad shared the dais with Modi. Modi arrived after addressing rallies in Maharashtra and Karnataka. Before the election on April 23, Modi will be addressing one more rally in the state.
