The arrival of Congress president Rahul Gandhi to Kerala as a candidate is set to see a host of national leaders make it to the State as part of the campaign. Top BJP leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, party president Amit Shah and Rahul's opponent in Amethi Smriti Irani, will be campaigning here.
Since Rahul is contesting from Wayanad, Shah and Smriti are to address public meetings there. Modi will be campaigning in Kozhikode will arrive Kerala for the election campaign in Kozhikode on April 12 and Thiruvananthapuram on April 18. There is a move in the state leadership to take Modi to Wayanad and address a meeting there.
"Amit Shah's first election campaign in Kerala is scheduled on April 17. He will arrive Wayanad for his second visit. Smriti Irani will visit Kerala on April 9. She will spend a whole day in Wayanad during her second visit," BJP state general secretary MT Ramesh told mediapersons.
