LS Election: PM to campaign in Kerala on Apr 12

Thiruvananthapuram, Apr 4: Following the whirlwind visit of Rahul Gandhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also visit Kerala on April 12 to take part in an election campaign.

The Lok Sabha election will be held in the state on April 23. The Prime Minister will attend public functions in Thiruvananthapuram and Kozhikode on that day as Kerala became a centre of attention at the National level following Congress President Rahul Gandhi contesting from Wayanad, party sources said.

BJP will also rope in an array of top leaders during the campaign period. Union Ministers Smriti Irani and RK Singh will arrive in Kerala on April 9, Sushma Swaraj on April 11, Rajnath Singh on April 13 and Nitin Gadkari on April 15.

Defence Minister Ms Nirmala Sitharaman will reach Kerala on April 16, Piyush Goyal on April 19, Mukthar Abbas Naqvi on April 20. The leaders will address party workers at various constituencies in the State.

Former Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa will address a public function on April 8, the sources added. (UNI)
