Groupism ruled over selection of Congress candidates for the Lok Sabha seats in Kerala with those for four - Wayanad, Badagara, Attingal and Alappuzha - to be announced later.
It was surprises of sorts with five-time Lok Sabha member KV Thomas giving way to Hibi Eden, MLA. Thomas expressed his surprise, shock, pain and dismay at being denied the ticket. He is the only sitting Congress MP to be denied the ticket.

The other candidates are: Kodikunnel Suresh (Mavelikkara), Benny Behnan (Chalakudy), MK Raghavan (Kozhikode), VK Sreekantan (Palakkad), Anto Antony (Pathanamthitta), TN Prathapan (Thrissur), Dean Kuriakose (Idukki), Rajmohan Unnithan(Kasargod), K Sudharakan (Kannur) and Ramya Haridas (Alathur)
The ‘I’ and ‘A’ factions staked claims for the Seats, especially Wayanad. While the I group insisted on Shanimol Usman, the other faction demanded giving the ticket to T Sidiq. Caste equations were also under consideration in other seats, party sources said.
