Prime Minister Narendra Modi Government listened only to industrialists of the like of Anil Ambani and Nirav Modi and never gave ear to the voices of farmers, fishermen and even small businessmen, Congress president Rahul Gandhi said at National Fishermen Parliament organised by All-India Fishermen Congress at Triprayar in Thrissur district on Thursday.
He said the voice of the people was of prime importance. But in the present situation, Anil Ambani or Nirav Modi were the main people whose voice was being heard.
“Whatever they asked for is done by Modi in 10 seconds. They don't have to shout. They can even whisper and the message goes whereas farmers, fishermen and small businessmen have to shout very loudly before the government listens,” he said.
Rahul clarified that he was making a mention about the “dishonest” people who Modi heard. “I don't call Anil Ambani Anil Bhai, I don't call Nirav Modi Nirav Bhai, I don't call Mehul Choksi Mehul Bhai,” he said.
He did not spare even Finance Minister Arun Jaitley who met industrialist Vijay Mallya, who fled the country after cheating banks.
Later, Rahul visited the houses of the two Youth Congress activists killed allegedly by CPM activists recently.
In the evening at a massive election meeting in Kozhikode, Rahul assured people that Congress, if voted to power, would implement minimum wages and also pass the Bill for women representation in Parliament.
