Thiruvananthapuram, Mar 13 : Kerala BJP will finalise its candidate for the upcoming Loksabha elections soon, Party National General Secretary P Muralidhar Rao said here on Wednesday.
Talking to newspersons here, Rao said his party will finalise candidates within two or three days and the party was in touch with other political parties including Kerala Congress (Joseph) as part of improving the poll prospects of the BJP in the State.
The Central Election Committee of the party will announce the candidates at the right time, he added. On Sabarimala issue, the BJP leader said the party will not use the name of Lord Ayyappa for seeking votes. But the Government's stand against the devotees of Ayyappa in connection with the women entry issue will be raised and discussed publicly during election, he added.
Pointing out that the BDJS and the SNDP are free to air their political views, he said that the BJP is only concerned about the BDJS and the party has full trust in SNDP.
Earlier, SNDP General Secretary Vellappally Natesan said he was not in favour of his son and BDJS leader Thushar Vellappally contesting the elections. His son can contest the elections after resigning the responsibilities in SNDP, which is a cultural organisation. UNI
