Kozhikode, Mar 11 : The rebel voices in the Lokthantric Janata Dal (LJD), following denial of a seat by the Left Democratic Front (LDF) in the forthcoming Lok Sabha election, has subsided after the CPI(M) strongman and LDF candidate in Vatakara LS constituency meeting the LJD leader Maniyath Chandran on Monday.
The LJD district President and veteran LJD leader Maniyath Chandran had openly criticised the LJD leadership for having conceded before the LDF resulting In the denial of a seat.
However, the CPI (M) nominee in Vatakara LS constituency P Jayrajan had met Mr Chandran on Monday and has believed to have given some solid assurance to mend the rebel LJD leader. The LJD has some prominence and a reasonably strong vote bank in Vatakara LS constituency, enough to tilt the poll outcome.
The Revolutioary Marxist Party (RMP) had already locked declared any poll alliance to defeat their rival Jayarajan, alleged to have masterminded the killing of RMP founder T P Chandrsekharan. UNI
