Sabarimala, Feb 11 : World famous Lord Ayyappa temple here will open on Tuesday evening for five-day monthly poojas for the Malayalam month of Kumbhom.
Sources said the district police authorities submitted a report to the Pathanamthitta District Collector seeking the clamping of 144 in Sabarimala during the pilgrimage citing law and order problems.
Steps are being taken to deploy about 3,000 police personnel during the monthly opening citing protest against women entry by various Hindu organisations.

On Wednesday morning, a special Kalabhabhishekam will be performed. A Brahmakalsa pooja will be performed by the Tantri at 1000 hrs in the presence of Melsanthi Vasudevan Nampoothiri.
