Pennews

Public Works Minister has been charged with insulting womanhood and summoned to appear before the court on March 29.

The case was registered against Sudhakaran and the Ambalappuzha magistrate court ordered issuing him summons.

The case pertains to remarks made way back in 2016 during the inauguration of the road works at Thottappally Lakshmithoppu. He was MLA of Ambalappuzha.

His former personal staff Usha Sali filed a complaint that he had made insulting comments against her at the function. She was then the branch secretary of CPM.
Sudhakaran allegedly accused her of working to defeat party candidates in the local body elections. He made remarks linking her salary with personal gains she had made as his staff when he was Devaswom Minister.

She had filed a police complaint but with no action taken, she was forced to move the court. Following her filing the complaint, she was expelled from the party.
