Thiruvananthapuram, Feb 3: Kerala BJP will organise sit-in dharnas in all district headquarters in the State on February 13, the opening day of Lord Ayyappa temple in Sabarimala for five-day monthly poojas.
The State-wide dharnas will be in protest against the CPI (M)-led Left Government's crude attempt to destroy the customs and traditions of centuries-old hill shrine of Lord Ayyappa, BJP State General Secretary MT Ramesh said here on Sunday.
Referring the successful conduct of the ongoing Kumbmela in Uttar Pradesh, the BJP leader said the previous annual pilgrimage in Sabarimala was sabotaged by the CPI(M)-led Left Government in Kerala.
Pinarayi government should learn from UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath that how he respects and protects the customs and traditions in the northern State.
The UP welcomes people from all over the world to attend Kumbmela in which nearly 15 crore people are expecting to participate as part of promoting pilgrim tourism.
"However, in Kerala, Pinarayi Government is trying to destroy the customs and traditions of world famous Lord Ayyappa temple as part of an evil design of Communist party," he added.
The hill shrine in Sabarimala will open for the five-day monthly poojas for the Malayalam month of 'Kumbham' on February 13 evening. (UNI)
