Kochi, Feb 01: Mumbai gangster Ravi Pujari, who was in the news recently in connection with the attack on the beauty parlour of Leena Maria Paul in Kochi, has been arrested in Senegal, according to reports.
Involved in several cases across the country and on the run for around 15 years, Pujari may be extradited as the Central Government would wish to have a number of criminals in hiding brought back during the election year. Already, Bengaluru police have put out a red notice against him.
There are several cases of murder and extortion against him and the latest in Kochi is believed to be a case of extortion. His accomplices even opened fire outside the beauty parlour and left a note with his name outside.
He had even called up certain visual media houses in the State and claimed responsibility for the shooting. According to reports from Senegal, Pujari had been staying under forged passport of Antony Fernandez and was earlier in Burkina Faso. Pujari had earlier worked with underworld dons Chotta Rajan and Dawood Ibrahim.
