Sabarimala found an important place in Kerala's interim budget on Thursday with a total allocation of Rs 739 crore.
A waste treatment plant would be set up in Pamba to tide over waste management, a major menace for pilgrims. An amount of Rs 147.75 crore was allocated to improve basic facilities at the base camps of Pamba and Nilakkal. Vehicle Parking facilities would be improved at Nilakkal, besides Ranni.
Finance Minister Thomas Isaac also announced an allocation of Rs 200 crore for development of Sabarimala road.
