In a bid to kick-off the 2019 election campaign, Congress president Rahul Gandhi arrived at Marine Drive, Kochi in Kerala on Tuesday.
He will address a massive gathering of 50,000 booth leaders, and interestingly, half of them are women. Rahul Gandhi arrived at the meeting venue at Marine Drive after visiting the home of Lok Sabha MP and Congress leader MI Shanavas, who died In November 2018. Following this, Rahul Gandhi will attend a high tea with party leaders where the election strategies will also be discussed.
KPCC president Mullappally Ramachandran has great expectations from Rahul Gandhi's maiden visit to Kerala in 2019. In Kerala, Congress-led UDF had the upper hand in 2009 and 2014 with 16 and 12 seats respectively. While, BJP desperately trying to make a dent in Kerala, the CPI (M)-led Left Democractic Front will be looking forward to carry on with the momentum from the 2016 assembly election.
