Thiruvananthapuram, Jan 25 : Opposition Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) on Friday termed the address by Governor Justice (Retd) P Sathasivam in the Assembly as totally 'disappointing' and 'directionless'.
Addressing a press conference here, Opposition leader in the Assembly Ramesh Chennithala said as the Governor's address is a policy statement of the state government we expected that it would have major announcements about the projects to be taken up to rebuild the flood-ravaged state.
The Governor in his address has not mentioned on how to mobilise funds to rebuild the flood-hit state, he said.
"Even after six months of floods, discussions to rebuild post-flood Kerala are continuing and the continuing discussions are creating hindrance to the rebuilding activities'', he alleged.
Earlier, the Governor began his customary address amidst opposition's protest over lack of relief to flood victims. As the protest continued, the governor said "listen to the speech, answer is there".... hinting that his speech carried the answers to the questions raised by the opposition.
Even the announcements made in the Governor's address in the previous budget session were also not implemented, Mr Chennithala alleged several schemes mentioned in the previous address is repeated now.
