ISRO spy case victim Fousiya to move court for relief

Maldivian woman Fousiya Hassan is to move the court seeking compensation for falsely being implicated in the infamous ISRO espionage case.

Her demand for compensation comes close on the heels of the Supreme Court order to award Rs 50 lakh compensation to scientist Nambi Narayanan who was arrested in 1994 and harassed in the case, subjecting him to mental agony.

Fousiya told mediapersons in Kozhikode that she too, like Nambi Narayanan, needed compensation for which she would approach the court. She added that the ISRO case had affected her daughter's education.

She said she had been subjected to very harsh questioning as part of the case which proved to be a fabricated one.  She along with another country woman Mariam Rasheeda was accused in the spy case.
