Kannur, Dec 27 : BJP National Executive committee member and former State President PK Krishna Das on Thursday said the party will petition to the National Commission for Women (NCW) against the CPI(M) violence on the Lord Ayyappa devotees, including women and children, on Wednesday evening.

Terming the attack barbaric, he said over one hundred devotees were hospitalised following the attack on the vehicles and the devotees who were heading for the Ayyappa Jyothi on Wednesday evening. The CPI (M) criminals had attacked and damaged vehicles including buses at Karivellur and Payyanur areas by pelting stones on them.

This is the first time that a "women hunt" is reported in the history of Kerala due to the political vengeance by rival party workers. The CPI(M) will have to pay a big price, in the near future itself, for their cruelty towards women and children.

The Marxist criminals were shouting while attacking the devotees that they don't want or allow any Ayyapan and Jyothi in their stronghold places", Mr Krishnadas alleged. He said the CPI (M) should bear in mind that not every place their cadres would line for the Women-Wall on January 1 are strongholds of Marxists.

BJP had decided to approach the NCW since they had lost faith in the State Police and District Administration, he added. UNI
