The three-member High Court monitoring committee has informed that the decision on women's entry into Sabarimala should be the responsibility of both the police and devaswom.
Washing of its hand, the High Court monitoring committee explained that the subject of women’s entry in Sabarimala was not under the purview of the committee. “Law and order lies with the police. The committee is responsible only for monitoring the situation,” committee added.
The clarification from the committee came in the light of Devaswom Minister Kadakampally Surendran's statement that the final decision on the entry of the members of the Chennai-based NGO Manithi was to be taken by the panel.
