Thiruvananthapuram, Dec 11: Kerala Assembly was adjourned on Tuesday as Opposition Congress-led UDF members disrupted the proceedings demanding the Speaker's intervention to end the indefinite dharna by the three MLAs and lifting of 144 in Sabarimala.

When the House assembled this morning, the Opposition members were on their feet shouting slogans against the Government and displaying placards and banners. Demanding the withdrawal of prohibitory orders under section 144 of CrPc in Sabarimala and police restrictions, the three MLAs -- VS Sivakumar of Congress, N Jayaraj of Kerala Congress and Parakkal Abdullah of IUML -- began the dharna in front of the house on December three.

The house witnessed noisy scenes as the Opposition members went to the podium forcing Speaker P Sreeramakrishnan to wrap up the business listed for the day. Later, the Speaker, who suspended Question Hour, Calling Attention, Submissions, rushed through the business listed for the day and adjourned the house for the day. (UNI)
