KP Sasikala the state President of Hindu Aikya Vedi was on her way to Sabarimala when she was arrested by the police on November 17. Now it has been reported that the Kerala police department has honoured and given cash awards to those police women who arrested her. The police personnel have also been awarded Good Service Entry according to ANI news agency.
When sasikala was stopped on her way up to the hill shrine, she told the police that she was a devotee and was above 50 years of age. However, the police suspected that her prime reason for the visit was to organize protests there and so she was arrested.
Responding to this news Sasikala responded that it was good that the police were given cash awards as doing duty at Sabarimala was tough and entailed long hours without even basic facilities.
