Sabarimala, Dec 1 : Kerala Devaswom Minister Kadakampally Surendran on Saturday invited Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala to visit the hill shrine along with him to see the facilities arranged for pilgrims.
The Minister was reacting to the Opposition allegation that lack of amenities for devotees have created hindrance to the ongoing pilgrimage.
The State Assembly was also adjourned for the third consecutive day on Friday following amid protest from Opposition alleging that the Government failed to provide facilities for devotees.
Denying the Opposition allegation, the Minister said all facilities are being arranged for the pilgrims and the Opposition leader can see this after visiting Sabarimala.
"I invite the Opposition leader to visit Pamba and Sannidanam to see the preparedness. I also ready to accompany him during his visit," he added.
Meanwhile, the Minister, who attended a review meeting of Government officials deputed in Sabarimala, expressed satisfaction over police security at Nilakkal, Pamba, Ilavunkal and Sannidanam, where the 144 CrPc is imposed till December 4.
Though the Devaswom Board has expressed its displeasure over police high handedness in Sabarimala affecting the inflow of devotees thereby affecting the income, the Minister stood with the Government stand to continue the police restrictions.(UNI)
