Thiruvananthapuram: While Kerala government is haunting BJP general secretary K Surendran by slapping cases on him, no BJP leaders, including party secretary Sreedharan Pillai has openly come out against it. Also, the only party MLA in the State, O Rajagopal, has also been maintaining silence since the Assembly session started on November 27.
It is learnt that there is strong resentment within BJP cadres over Rajagopal's silence in the Assembly. Nobody raised the issue in the Assembly was Rajagopal's claim. But this not been convincing to the cadre.
When Rajagopal and PC George decided to sit as a separate block wearing black in the Assembly, BJP leaders and workers expected their sole MLA to raise Surendran’s issue. Though he took up the Sabarimala issue, he made no mention of Surendran's arrest.
Though Surendran was arrested on November 18, BJP chief Sreedharan Pillai mentioned Surendran’s arrest issue only on Thursday’s news conference. The fake case registered against K Surendran will be brought to notice of national team led by BJP all-India secretary Saroj Pandey while they visit Kerala on December 2 and 3.
