Sabarimala, Nov 22: Police framed fresh charges against BJP leaders including State General Secretary K Surendran in connection with various protests at Sabarimala.
Police framed conspiracy charges, under IPC 120 (B), against BJP leader VV Rajesh, Yuva Morcha President Prakash Babu and RSS leader Valsan Thillankeri.
They have been framed for their role in stopping a 52-year-old woman who came to Lord Ayyappa temple during the previous one-day opening of the temple.
Though Surendran, who was remanded to judicial custody, has been granted conditional bail, he was not released following an arrest-warrant in connection with a pending case in Kannur.
Meanwhile, BJP State President PS Sreedharan Pillai, who is in Delhi to meet top BJP leaders, said fresh charges are framed against BJP leaders to stop their release from jail during the two-month long Mandala-Makaravilakku season. (UNI)
