Thiruvananthapuram: Veteran CPM leader MM Lawrence’s daughter, Asha Lawrence, has complained to the Governor that the CPM was making her life miserable at her workplace after her son attended a BJP programme on the Sabarimala issue. She alleged that the party was taking 'revenge’.
She later said Governor P Sathasivam assured her that he would instruct the Government to look into the matter and take ‘appropriate’ action. Asha and her son Milan called on the Governor around 11 am on Friday and had a 15-minute meeting when she filed the complaint.
Asha works with Kerala Small Industries Development Corporation Limited (SIDCO).
She said that as part of the harassment, party leaders were trying to collect false complaints against her from colleagues. Under the guise of advising her and her son, they were even threatening them over phone.
Milan, a plus two student, had participated in a BJP function to protest against the arrests on Sabarimala issue. Milan’s participation in the BJP function has got widespread media coverage and was seen as a slap on CPM. Even Lawrence went public condemning his grandson's participation in the BJP programme.
