Kochi, Nov 7: The Kerala High Court has dismissed a plea seeking to limit the vow to 21 days for women who prepare to pilgrimage to the world famed Ayyappa Temple at Sabarimala here on Wednesday.
Rejecting the plea, the court also told the Petitioner, who had also asked the court to issue a directive in this regard to the chief priest at Sabarimala, that does anyone have the legal authority to issue such a directive in this regard.
The court also advised the petitioner, M K Narayanan Potti, to approach the Supreme Court.
In another petition, seeking for a ban on the entry of young women to the Sabarimala Temple until the Supreme Court took a final decision on the revision petitions against its own ruling allowing their entry, the court pointed out that it was not authorised to consider any prayer against the Apex Court’s verdict.
Asserting that it cannot take a stand opposing the Supreme Court’s ruling, the court pointed out that pleas had been filed in the apex court raising the same demand. (UNI)
