TDB decides not to file review petition in SC on entry of women in Sabarimala

Thiruvananthapuram, Oct 7: Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB), the administrative body of temples in Kerala, has decided not to file review petition against the Supreme Court verdict allowing entry of women of all ages in world famous Lord Ayyappa temple at Sabarimala.

TDB Commissioner N Vasu, in an order, clarified that the Board will make necessary arrangements for women coming for Darshan at Sabarimala. The temple follows a custom of allowing the entry of girls below 10 years and women over 50 years.

However, the Apex Court had allowed the entry for women of all ages, leading to the protest from the devotees. The TDB will also inform Kerala DGP Loknath Behra to provide necessary security at Sabarimala to ensure safety for women pilgrims, TDB sources said. (UNI)
