Hitting out at CPIM State secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan for making comment on the entry of women in Sunni mosques, KPA Majeed, the Muslim League State General Secretary said that Kodiyeri, a non-believer, need not interfere in the matters of believers. Recently, Kodiyeri Balakrishnan dropped a bombshell when he said the Sunni sect of Muslims should allow women to enter their mosques.
"Kodiyeri is raking up mosque issue to hide his anxiety on Sabarimala issue. People can go to any extent to protect their beliefs. The government or court need not interfere in matters related to faith," Majeed said. Kodiyeri has recently made the comment that discrimination should not be shown to women in religious centres including Sunni mosques. Kodiyeri was criticizing the practice exists in two major groups of Sunni Muslim of not allowing the women to enter their mosques.
A couple of days back, in an unexpected turn of events, Muslim League had come forward in support of Sabarimala devotees who are crossing sword against the Supreme Court order of allowing women of all ages to enter Sabarimala temple.
