The Kerala unit of Shiv Sena on Saturday called off its call for a statewide shutdown on Monday to protest the Supreme Court verdict on Sabarimala.
Party's State Secretary M.S. Bhuvendran, explained the bad weather prediction as the reason for the withdrawal of the shutdown call. Shiv Sena officials in Kerala also felt the shutdown would affect the ongoing flood relief works in the state, he said.
The news about statewide shutdown spread on social media as soon the Shiv Sena announced it on Saturday evening. But without much delay, the organization decided to withdraw it. (PenNews with UNI input)
