National Women’s commission summons PC George MLA


National Women’s commission Chairperson Rekha Sharma has summoned PC George MLA to appear in the commission’s office in Delhi on the 20th of September.

The action of the National Women’s Commission is in response to the derogatory comment made by PC George MLA against the rape survivor nun. Recently in a press conference, PC George MLA had called the nun as ‘prostitute’.

In a letter sent to PC George MLA, the Chairperson Rekha Sharma has asked him to appear before the commission at Plot-21, Jasola Institutional Area, New Delhi-11--25 on 20th September, 2018 at 11.30 AM. In the letter the chairperson also wrote: 'the commission seriously condemns such objectionable and derogatory statements made by a person who occupies responsible position in the society.”
