Kochi, Aug 29: Cochin international airport resumed operations on Wednesday after remaining closed for 14 days after flood.
The flight from Hyderabad was the first to land at 2.05 pm. This was followed by the Pune-Bengaluru-Kochi one. According to airport authorities the schedule is to operate 33 incoming flights, including international ones, by midnight and 30 departures during this period.
The airport remained closed since August 15 and was scheduled to open on August 26. But this was put off by another three days to ensure that all arrangements were made as airlines and ground handling agencies expressed concern over mobilising manpower by then.
