The Cochin international airport Nedumbassery is gearing up to resume operations from August 26 after closure on August 15.
Cleaning operations of the terminals were underway.
Water has receded in the runway, parking bay and taxiway and repair works, which include milling, would take another two days, the airport authorities said today.
The more than 800 lights for night landing needed to be removed, checked and refitted.
Reconstruction work was in full swing and temporary structures would be fixed, meeting security norms, they said.
For the time being, the airport was rendering terminal management services to the Naval Air Base from where commercial operations are being carried out.
