COVID-19 positive cases in K'taka soar to 4835

Bengaluru, Jun 5: With the reporting of 515, highest single day, cases of COVID-19, the total number of infected surged to 4835 in Karnataka on Friday. According to health sources, Among the 515 fresh cases, Udupi topped with 204 cases followed by Yadagiri 74, Vijayapura 53, Kalaburagi 42, Bidar 39, Belagagi 36, Bengaluru Rural 12, and Bengaluru Urban district 10.

Fresh cases of pandemic also reported from Hassana, Davanagere, Dakshina Kannada, Chikkaballapura, Uttara Kannada, Bhagaakote, Dharwad, Ballari, Kolara, Haveri and Ramanagara districts. They said that while a total number of 83 COVID-19 patients, got discharged from various hospitals, after completely cured from the pandemic, there exists as many as 3,088 active cases got admitted in various hospitals in the state.

The sources further said that among those who were tested positive on Thursday, as many as 482 persons had come from other states, while one person traveled into the state from abroad. So far in Karnataka, as many as 57 persons have died due to the COVID-19 disease, the sources added. (UNI)
