Bengaluru, Jun 1 : The country is surging ahead in the path of progress under the exceptional and far-sighted leadership of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa said here on Monday. Addressing a press conference here, he said, "The Prime minister is leading the country forward with his SabKa Saath Sab Ka Vikas principle".
Listing out several achievements the country has witnessed during the last six years at the Centre, the Chief Minister said the termination of the special status to Jammu and Kashmir, formation of Jammu-Kashmir, Ladakh as Union Territories, finding solutions to Ram Mandir issue, and banning the practice of triple talaq, Amendment to the Citizen Act, one-country One ration card system, are among works done by Mr Modi.
He said that the launch of PM Kisan Nidhi, Vande Bharat Mission, Monthly pension to farmers, farm labourers, small shopkeepers, and workers in the unorganised sectors, are among the noteworthy achievements of the Government. Asserting that the Prime Minister is spearheading the cause of building a strong and self reliant Bharat, Mr Yediyurappa had complimented the Prime Minister for successfully tackling the COVID-19 pandemic across the country.
"India has been noticed globally for the measures it took in fighting the spread of virus" he said. Under the able leadership of Mr Modi, the country is marching towards emerging one of the leading nations across the globe, Mr Yediyurappa said. Referring to the rebellious activities within the state BJP, the Chief Minister said, "I will not bother about such things and the only goal before me is to take the Karnataka state to the pinnacle of development".
He had also listed out several relief measures he had taken to tackle the disease and financial packages announced to the people of the certain sections in the society, had suffered a lot due to the lockdown. (UNI)
