Bengaluru, May 30 : With the detection of 141 fresh cases of COVID-19, the total number of people tested positive for the virus surged to 2922 in Karnataka on Saturday.
Among the 141 fresh cases, the number of cases accounted for Bengaluru Urban district were 33 followed by Yadagiri 18, Udupi and Hassana 13 each, Dakshina Kannada 14, Vijayapura 11, Bidar 10 and Shivamogga district 6. The fresh cases of pandemic also reported from Kolara, Haveri, Chitradurga, Dharwada, Mysuru, Belagavi, Davanagere and Kalaburagi. The death toll also rose to 49 when a 47-year-old female patient from Bidar, also with underlying medical conditions, died on Saturday at the designated hospital in the district.
In the last 24-hours as many as 103 COVID-19 patients had been completely cured and discharged from the hospitals. The highest number of 15728 samples had been tested in the state, the sources said. (UNI)
