Bengaluru, May 27 : With reporting of 122 more fresh cases of COVID-19, the total number of people testing positive for the pandemic surged to 2405 in Karnataka on Wednesday. According to official sources, the death toll due to COVID-19 also rose to 45, when a 69-year-old female patient in Yadagiri succumbed to the disease on Wednesday.
The 122 fresh cases detected on Wednesday, included 25 from Kalaburagi, 16 from Yadagiri and 11 from Bidar districts. The fresh cases of the pandemic were also reported from Dakshina Kannada, Uttara Kannada, Hassan, Bengaluru Urban, Bengaluru Rural, Raichur, Vijayapura, Belagavi, Udupi and Chikmagalur districts. Out of 101 people who tested positive for the pandemic, 81 had come to Karnataka from other states. According to official sources, the highest number of 20 new cases were reported from Chitradurga, followed by Belagavi (13), Yadagiri (14), Hassan (13), Bidar (10) and Davanagere (10) districts.
New COVID-19 cases were also reported from Bengaluru Urban, Viyayapura, Ballari, Koppal, Udupi, Chikkaballapura, Dakshina Kannada and Bagalkot districts. While 14 COVID-19 patients got discharged from the hospitals on Wednesday, as many as 762 people, who had contracted Coronavirus, were completely cured in the state, ever since the outbreak of the pandemic.
