Bengaluru, May 24 : While Karnataka, took about 46 days to conduct the first one lakh COVID19 tests, for the next one lakh tests took just 16 days, Karnataka Medical Education minister Dr K Sudhakar, informed here on Sunday.
In a Twitter message , the minister said that “After clocking one lakh tests on May 8, we were able to double the number of tests in just 16 days, as we registered 2.03 lakh tests across our 571 CMR COVID-19 testing labs”. The minister also congratulated the doctors and lab technicians for their feat of achievement.
The number of COVID-19 positive cases surpassed 2000 on Sunday, when about 97 fresh cases of pandemic were reported in many parts of the state on Sunday. In Karnataka as many as 42 persons had lost their lives due to the COVID-19 related complications. (UNI)
