COVID-19 positive cases in Karnataka swollen to 1373

Bengaluru, May 19 : While the Karnataka Government had taken several measures in easing of Lock-down restrictions, clamped to halt the spread of the pandemic,127 more fresh case of the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) infection, including 62 from Mandya district, have been reported, taking the total number of persons contracted for the disease, to 1373 in the state on Tuesday.

Apart from Mandya, the fresh cases were also reported form Kalaburagi, Shivamogga, Udupi, Dakshina Kannada, Davanagere, Yadagiri, Bengaluru Urban, Gadag, Hassan, Uttara Kannada,Chikkamagaluru, Udupi and Chitradurga districts, in the state. The death toll due to the infection of COVID-19 disease in the state also rose to 40 when two patients from Bengaluru Urban and one from Vijayapura, were died due to the complications associated with the pandemic, the sources said. Ever since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, as many as 530 patients, had been completely cured and discharged from the hospital, the sources added. (UNI)
