Ramanagara, Karnataka, May 16: A 68-year-old woman was killed by a leopard in Magadi taluk of the district in wee hours of Saturday, forest and police department officials said. The body without head in Kottaganahalli area in Tavarekere police station limits was recovered at some distance from her house, the officials added.
According to officials, she had gone to relieve herself in the early hours. The leopard, suspected to be an adult, attacked her and devoured most parts of her body. It may be mentioned here that a three-year-old boy was killed by a leopard near Kadaraiahna Palya on the outskirts of Ramanagara on May 9. The body has been shifted to the government hospital at Nelamangala. Following the incident, the forest officials visited the spot. The villagers demanded the forest department to capture the leopard alive and leave it in the forest or kill it. (UNI)
