Bengaluru, May 12 : With reporting of 42 fresh cases of the COVID-19 virus infection, including 14 from Bagalakote district, the total number of infected persons was surged to 904 on Tuesday in Karnataka. According to official sources, the fresh cases of COVID-19 virus infection was also reported from Dharwad (09), Hassan (5), Bengaluru urban (04), Bidar (02), Yadagir (03), Dakshina Kannada (02), and Ballari, Chikakballapura and Kalaburagi districts, one each.

Among the new cases, included two female children of 7 and 4 years of age, the sources said. Hassan district, which had a distinction of not reporting a single case, ever since the onset of the COVID-19 disease, has reported five cases on Tuesday. All the five persons, who were detected in Hassan districts, had returned form Mumbai. In Karnataka, as many as 426 COVID-19 patients, had been completely cured and discharged from the hospital, while as many as 31 persons, had died due to the pandemic, so far. (UNI)
