Bengaluru, May 4: With the reporting of 28 fresh cases of the COVID-19 infection, including 21 from Davanagere district, the number of persons contracted for the disease in Karnataka surged to 642 on Monday. In a highest single-day spike, twenty-one persons, including nine women, were contracted the dreaded COVID-19 disease since Sunday evening, according to official sources.
While two each cases has been reported in Manda and Kalaburagi district, Haveri, Chikkagallapura and VIjayapura district accounted for one each COVID-19 infected cases. The death toll in Karnataka also rose to 26 when a 56-year-old man, who was receiving treatment for the COVID-19 disease, died on Sunday night. In Karnataka, as many as 304 people discharged from the hospital after completely recovering from the disease. (UNI)
