Karnataka PCC chief donates Rs 1 crore to KSRTC

Agency News

Bengaluru, May 3: Criticising that the state government has 'totally failed in arranging transport facilities to the stranded labourers to reach their respective homes', the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president D K Shivakumar has donated rupees one crore to the state-run Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) to arrange buses for the benefit of the working class.

The KPCC president, who had also visited the KSRTC bus terminal where large number of labourers were waiting for the several hours to board the bus to reach their home-places, expressed solidarity with them in this time.

He said that the state government, which had promised to operate buses for the benefit of the labourers, had miserably failed to fulfill its promises. "Thousand of labourers arrived to the bus-terminal, hoping to get the buses are enduring in the bus-stand without shelter or food," he said.
