COVID-19 positive cases in K'taka rise to 589

Bengaluru, May 1: With the detection of 13 more fresh cases of the COVID-19 infection, including six from Davanagere district, the total number of persons contracted for the disease, in Karnataka surged to 589 on Friday.

According to official sources, among the 13 fresh cases, included a one-year-old boy, the son of a staff nurse, who was tested positive recently. While two more cases were reported from Dakshina Kannada and Kalaburagi, Dharwad, Chikkaballapura, and Vijayapura districts, registered on fresh cases of COVID-19 disease. While as many as 251 infected persons, had been completely cured and discharged from the hospitals, Karnataka accounted for 22 deaths, due to the disease so far, the sources added. (UNI)
