BJP leader and Bengaluru South MP Tejasvi Surya faced a backlash from Twitterati for his tweet about ‘Arab women orgasm’ and eventually he withdrew his controversial tweet.
Though BJP leaders tried to defend him saying that the controversial tweet was that of five years old, but women across the world, even from Arab world came down heavily on young Tejasvi Surya.
Look at one tweet against Tejasvi Surya:
“Indian Silicon Valley #Bengaluru elects guys like #tejasvisurya. #BJP #RSS have penetrated every vein of India from military to tech & business community. Not a good thing when you’re planning to double your GDP. Feel bad for hardworking Indians who deserve better leadership.”
His tweet goes like this: "95% Arab women have never had an orgasm in the last few hundred years! Every mother has produced kids as act of sex and not love".
When he tweeted this, Tejasvi Surya had not been an MP.
Surya’s tweet was in response to author and economist Rupa Subramanya Fatah’s talk about the issue of female genital mutilation. But taken by itself, Surya's tweet does not really explain the context, turning it merely into a unsavory comment.
As the backlash turned strong, Surya deleted the tweet.
