COVID-19: Positive cases in K'taka surges to 359

Bengaluru, Apr 17 : With six more positive cases of COVID-19, including five from Belagavi district, the number of novel coronavirus infected persons in Karnataka rose to 359 on Friday.

According to official sources, as many as 44 fresh cases, highest in a single day, so far, were reported from Mysore, Mandya, Bengaluru, Belagavi, Vijayapura, Bidar, Dakshina Kannada and Bengaluru urban districts were since last 24 hours in the state. The sources further said that as many as 12 positive cases were reported from Mysore district, followed by 10 in Bengaluru Urban, Seven in Bellary, five in Belagavi, three each in Chikkaballapura and Mandya, two in Vijayapura and one each cases from Dakshina Kannada and Bidar districts.

While as many as 88 COVID-19 infected patients had been cured and discharged from the designated hospitals, 13 persons have lost their lives due to the pandemic disease, the sources added. (UNI)
