COVID-19: Sexuagenarian dies in Kalaburagi, 6 new cases in K'taka

Kalaburagi , Apr 8 :A 65-year-old man died of COVID-19 at the ESIC hospital in Kalaburagi on Wednesday.

Kalaburagi Deputy Commissioner B Sharat confirmed this death and said he was the native of Sanaswadi area of Kalaburagi and had a history of severe acute respiratory infection. He was isolated at ESI hospital in Kalaburagi.

The Health and Family Welfare Department was yet to release details of how the patient contracted the virus,he said.

According to the State the Health bulletin there have been five more COVID-19 positive cases recorded taking the total number of positive cases to 181.The other five cases include one each from Uttar Karnataka, Kalaburagi, Mandya, Chikkaballapur and Bengaluru.

While one of these patients were in contact with a person who had travelled to Dubai and two others were contacts of a positive patient, the department has listed that the two other patients had travelled to New Delhi. A 76-year-old elderly man who returned from abroad died of COVID-19 on March 10 in Kalaburagi city.(UNI)
