K'taka: All 27 suspected cases test negative in Belagavi district

Belagavi, Apr 3: All the 27 suspected Coronavirus (COVID-19) cases sent for Lab test have turned out to be negative, according to Deputy Commissioner S B Bommanahalli.

"Out of 27 suspected, reports of 21 negative received a few days back and report about six remainings, also negative, was received on Thursday evening. In all 27 suspected cases were declared negative," according to a statement issued here last night.

He said that people need not get panic. People should cooperate with the administration.

Mr Bommanhalli said that in all 62 people participated in the Delhi event and all were identified and after Medical check-up, it was found that none of them had symptoms of COVID-19.

District administration and related department taken all necessary steps and collected 33 people samples and sent to the lab for testing. 42 (High-Risk group) people were admitted to the Belagavi Institute of Medical Sciences (BIMS) hospital for precautionary, the Deputy Commissioner informed.

Mr Bommanahalli said "we identified 62 people till today in the district but any others participated in the meeting at Delhi from the district, they should report to the nearest police station, Tahsildars immediately. Otherwise, they have to face a legal course of action if caught." (UNI)
