Raichur, Mar 15 : Two persons with a recent history of international travel were quarantined on Sunday after they showed coronavirus symptoms.
Raichur Deputy Commissioner Venkatesh Kumar said that they were admitted to a hospital for further tests and their blood samples have been sent to Bengaluru. Addressing press conference here, Mr Kumar said that district health department had kept radar on 25 persons who recently returned from abroad. "We are creating awareness about the fatal disease and have taken measures to keep people safe and healthy," , he said .
As the state government has already shut schools, colleges, theaters, malls, weddings and bars/pubs for a week from Saturday across the state, Mr Kumar said the ban would be for two weeks till March 28 in the city to prevent social gatherings in large numbers. The district administration also evicted roadside eateries and sale of cut-fruits in the open to prevent spread of the deadly virus, he said. Meanwhile in famous pilgrimage Centre Mantralayam Temple, offering 'Panchabrutam ' to the devotee were withdrawn to prevent spread of virus, but afternoon Prasadam and other service's were as usual, the temple source said.
