Agency News

Kalaburagi, Mar 5 : Police here on Thursday issued another notice to AIMIM Spokesperson Waris Yusuf Pathan asking him to appear for questioning on March 8 in connection with his provocative remarks at an Anti-Citizenship (Amendment) Act-NPR-NRC convention recently.

Police said that Pathan failed to appear before the police on March 1 despite issuing the notice. The police decided to question 14 people including Pathan on March 8. On the advises of Karnataka Home Minister Basavaraj Bommai, the FIR has been filed against Waris Pathan and issued first notice to him on Feb 28 but he failed to appear before Kalaburgi police for questioning.

Pathan has been widely condemned for reportedly stating that "15 crore hain lekin 100 crore pe bhari hain" on Feb 15 in Kalaburagi anti-CAA rally. (UNI)
