Panaji, Jan 11: Sanatan Sanstha has said that it has nothing to do with Gauri Lankesh murder case.
In a statement, Sanatan Sanstha National Spokesperson Chetan Rajhans said,'We have come to know that Karnataka police has arrested Rishikesh Devadikar in relation to the Gauri Lankesh Murder case. He was arrested in Jharkhand. We are enquiring more about this matter.'
"According to the information received, Devadikar was involved in our activities a few years back; But he has not been active for the last eight-ten years. We also came to know that he was working in some other organisation in the meantime. It is totally inappropriate to blame Sanatan Sanstha when someone involved in Sanatan's activities long back gets arrested in a case now. Sanatan Sanstha does the work of spreading spirituality. Sanatan Sanstha informs through this press release that it has no connection with any murder case at all," he said.
Special Investigation Team of Karnataka police arrested Rushikesh Devdikar alias Murali (44) from a hideout at Katras in Dhanbad district of Jharkhand on January 9.
Journalist and activist Gauri Lankesh was shot point blank outside her residence in Bengaluru on September 5, 2017. Her murder had sparked pan-India protest. (UNI)
