Agency News

Hubballi, Nov 25 : Former Karnataka Speaker K R Ramesh Kumar has taken a strong exception to the Chief Election Commission silence on Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa's promise to give minister post to the disqualified MLAs, who are contesting on BJP ticket in December 5 By-election in the State.

Speaking to newsmen here last night, he said, "Does the Chief Minister's promise is not a violation of election code and an attempt to woo the voters against constitutional norms." Stating that the Supreme Court has given verdict for contesting elections to disqualified MLAs leaving it to people's court to decide about their political future, he added.
